ENGLISH assignment

In our life, there are so many people whom we called them as a ‘teacher’. This people are those who lead us to the path that they want us to follow either it is wrong or right. For Mitch Albom, he has so many teachers in his life but the one that unforgettable for him was his college professor, Morrie Schwartz.
Nevertheless, Morrie has been astray away from Mitch minds after he has graduated from his university. Although he has promised to Morrie that they will always keep in touch, Mitch left his professor without a goodbye. From that day, Mitch can be depicted as a chick lost its mother. He has forgotten all the things that Morrie has thought to him about the philosophy of life. He starts to follow the world trend that is selfish and busy for nothing. Morrie always mentions about this world is always busy for nothing. They lack of love and care in their everyday life. They did not really get the real honey of the world. For them, money is everything. But for Morrie he does not want his students to follow the cruel trend of the world. He wants to prepare a community that is full with care and love. Mitch life is never be a happy day for him. He feels that something is not enough in his life and it goes wrong. One day, Mitch coincidently sees Morrie been interviewed on the television.Maybe, if you are in the Mitch’s shoe, you lost track with your mentor that has enlighten the world for you, to keep you warm and helped you see the world as a profound place, would you like to see that person again? For Mitch, he sentence the question to become a compulsory for him to meet Morrie.
“Once a teacher is always a teacher.” Although Mitch has left Morrie for about 20 years, Morrie still accept his student with full of love and he tells Mitch how he miss him much. Mitch was astonished when he discovered that Morrie was actually dying because of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) disease. A disease that decreasing his cells and ‘eat’ his body slowly. Mitch realizes that he has lack of time with his teacher and he has more to learn with his teacher. Both of the make a deal to meet every Tuesdays and start their lessons as usual like they always do during 20 years ago. For both of them this class is a very special class. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live.

This book is an origin from the “final class” and both of them declare it as a “final thesis”. When I read this book, it really motivated me and make me realize that we are always running for the world trend and not running for what we actually want. One of the Morrie words that take my heart away is “Learn about dead and we will automatically learn how to live”. In Islam it is compulsory for us to bear in our mind that death is always near to us, and with that it really influences our life to be a better Muslims.
